ANSWERS TO COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the Plans administered by Veterinary Plans of America™ (VPA)?

VPA is a national administrator and sponsor of veterinary referral plans. These plans are effective in bringing new clients and increased revenues to participating veterinary hospitals.

Are there any fees or charges for my hospital to become a participating provider?

No, you will not have any fees or charges for participating. All of the benefits for you and your staff will be provided at no charge.

How are the VPA plans marketed?

VPA plans are marketed through a large network of independent sales representatives who offer healthcare referral plans to individuals and small to medium size businesses.
These members are referred to VPA participating veterinary hospitals. The members are instructed to call your hospital to make an appointment. You then use these appointments to fill available time that you have on your calendar. As fill-in business, you are asked to provide these services at a somewhat reduced fee. This is not insurance.

What if my normal fee for a procedure is less than the VPA fee?

You must charge the member the lower of your usual and customary fee or the scheduled fee.

What if I am affiliated with another plan?

You may be affiliated with as many plans as you wish, as long as you comply with the conditions of a VPA plan.

How will participation increase my business and my income?

If your practice has holes in it's calendar and you are not fully utilizing your facilities and your staff, participation in a VPA plan will help you fill those holes with fee paying clients.
You will not only benefit from the members referred to you from VPA plans, but you will also benefit from personal referrals from these new clients.

Do I have to accept all VPA referrals?

No, you may schedule any appointments in accordance with your time availability and facility capacity.

What benefits does my staff receive as a participating provider?

As a VPA provider you and your staff are going to be members of the Provider Benefits Program administered by Affiliated Benefits Organization.
This program offers a large variety of money savings benefits that are detailed in the Program Benefits Guide.
